An internal gear pump (internal gear type pump) is well known in the art. The internal gear pump comprises a casing, a pair of helical gears disposed in the casing, a piston disposed in the casing so as to be rotatable in accordance with rotation of the pair of helical gears, and a rotary shaft extending through the pair of helical gears. An internal gear pump is demanded to be smaller in size than a gear pump of the other type, and therefore the diameter of a bearing used for the internal gear pump is smaller. However, this makes it difficult to secure a sufficient bearing supporting capacity, and requires a large load to the bearing. In this regard, a tension type internal gear pump is known. The tension type internal gear pump comprises a casing, a pair of helical gears disposed in the casing, a piston disposed in the casing so as to be rotatable in accordance with rotation of the pair of helical gears, and a rotary shaft extending through the pair of helical gears. In the tension type internal gear pump, the helical gears are disposed so as to contact with the rotary shaft and therefore the rotary shaft does not rotate relative to the casing when the piston is moved to the bottom dead center (bottom dead position), namely, in the vicinity of the bottom dead position. Accordingly, in the tension type internal gear pump, a large bearing supporting capacity can be obtained, and the load to the bearing can be made smaller than in the other type. In the tension type internal gear pump, the helical gears are usually fixed to the rotary shaft or the casing and therefore the helical gears cannot rotate relative to the rotary shaft or the casing. Accordingly, in the case where a large load is applied to the internal gear pump by an internal gear pump for a car engine (engine), a tensile load is applied to the casing of the internal gear pump.
